The Announcement
Paris City Hall has ultimately decided to abandon the official fan zone project planned for the Champions League final between PSG and Arsenal, scheduled for May 30. This decision follows security constraints deemed too significant by authorities and unfavorable opinions issued by the relevant departments.
This withdrawal thus deprives Paris Saint-Germain and its supporters of a major public gathering in the capital, initially conceived as a focal point to experience the final in a festive and collective atmosphere.
What We Know
According to But Football Club, the city hall had considered a large, secure public space to host PSG fans during the final, but security requirements, particularly those related to crowd management, the national security context, and supervision capacities, rendered the project unfeasible.
The opinion of the competent authorities, who expressed reservations about the feasibility of this fan zone, was decisive in the decision to abandon this gathering. No official alternative site has been proposed by the municipality for the time being.
This absence of an official fan zone comes less than three weeks before the event, leaving little time to devise other reception solutions for supporters.
